Internet Routing Issue Disrupts Baylor Network

On the afternoon of Monday, August 19, 2024, the Baylor network experienced a disruption focused on Microsoft and Google-based resources. All network services were restored at 9:30 a.m. on Tuesday, August 20, 2024.

A change to a routing table on the Internet caused the disruption. In simplest terms, due to this change data that followed certain pathways on the Internet did not know how to find its way to Baylor.

During the outage, BaylorITS kept the community up-to-date through its System Status platform at systemstatus.baylor.edu. As always, HelpDesk+ assisted by phone at (254) 710-4357 and in person in its new location on the main floor of Moody Memorial Library.
