Baylor licenses many different software solutions and supports a variety of hardware environments that work together to help the university attain its ambitious mission. Our team works with Baylor administration, faculty, and staff across the organization to creatively apply the technology resources at our disposal to address operational, pedagogical, and research needs.
The ITS Projects Dashboard gives the Baylor community a clear view of major technology work across the University. It highlights significant initiatives, what they aim to accomplish, and where they are in the process.
All new technology ideas or needs begin with the IDEA form, which initiates review through Baylor IT Governance. Through that process, requests are evaluated for strategic alignment, impact, and available IT capacity.
The dashboard displays two types of work:
- Accepted Projects that have completed governance review and are approved to move forward
- Project Requests that have been submitted through the IDEA form and are still being reviewed or prioritized
This helps the campus understand that approvals and timelines are shaped by broader institutional priorities.
The purpose of the dashboard is to offer visibility into changes that may affect teaching, research, and campus systems. It explains why some efforts progress more quickly than others and shows how Baylor stewards limited IT resources responsibly and transparently. Its role is to inform and support conversations, not to evaluate departments or individuals.
As projects evolve, the dashboard updates alongside them, keeping the campus informed in a clear and accessible way.
