Standard Outage Guidelines
Baylor ITS technicians are continually monitoring the status of our systems and their components to ensure a consistent and stable environment. Outages are indicated on the Baylor ITS main page, the system status page, and posted to our Facebook and Twitter accounts. If you experience an issue that is not indicated in these spaces, please contact HelpDesk+ at (254) 710-4357.
Scheduled Outages
ITS reserves Thursday evenings from 6:00 p.m. until midnight to perform routine maintenance and upgrades on enterprise technology. ITS makes every attempt to schedule system maintenance during this window, however, it may be required to schedule outages outside of this window due to the nature of the maintenance. Key technology contacts across our campuses are notified of the date and time of these outages to try to avoid conflicts. If no conflicts are discovered, an email is sent to campus affiliates impacted by the outage. During the maintenance window, you may experience intermittent service interruptions with the systems affected by the maintenance.
Unscheduled Outages
Unscheduled outages are characterized by an unexpected interruption of service. This interruption might affect only a few people or the entire campus. Once the nature and scope of the outage is determined, Baylor ITS will communicate with campus affiliates using Microsoft Teams and updates will be posted to the Baylor ITS System Status page, Facebook, and Twitter.
