NSF ACCESS Program Enhances Baylor Research

BaylorITS Research Technology announces Baylor’s participation in the National Science Foundation's Advanced Cyberinfrastructure Coordination Ecosystem: Services & Support (ACCESS) program. This collaboration provides faculty and students with no cost access to a comprehensive suite of advanced computing resources, including supercomputers, visualization and storage systems, data collections, software, networks, and expert support.
The NSF ACCESS program provides services available from large R1 Institutions that are considered as “leadership class” facilities, to emerging R1 institutions such as Baylor. The program provides resources from institutions and consortia such as Georgia Tech, Indiana University, Purdue, Texas Advanced Computing Center, Texas A&M University, the Open Science Grid, and many more. BaylorITS is among the first to participate in the NSF ACCESS On-Ramp Program, which publishes an integrated web page (available at its.web.baylor.edu/nsf-access-program) that contains real-time system status and resource information embedded on the Baylor University website without the need to search and curate these resources from numerous locations.
"The NSF ACCESS program provides Baylor researchers with rapid access to cutting-edge resources that are not traditionally available at an emerging R1 Institution like ours,” said Dr. Joshua Kissee, Assistant Vice President for Research Technology at Baylor University. “This partnership significantly levels the computing playing field, empowering our research community to pursue groundbreaking research using advanced computing resources."
To get started with NSF ACCESS, Baylor researchers can establish an ACCESS account using the instructions found at its.web.baylor.edu/nsf-access-program. BaylorITS Research Technology has three NSF ACCESS certified technicians trained to support researchers with available resources.
