Baylor Makes the Move to Microsoft Teams Calls
Baylor has been on a journey of upgrading our communications technology to a modern, cloud-based environment for a few years. Now, we are taking the final step in that journey by decommissioning our Nortel-based desk phones and fully utilizing Microsoft Teams for calling, meetings, and collaboration.
Teams Calls brings the functionality of your desk phone to your computer and other devices. In addition to the many ways you already use Teams, with Calls you will be able to:
- Make local and long-distance calls and receive calls from off-campus
- Manage times when you are available to receive calls
- Easily forward and transfer calls
- ...and much more!
The first group of about 200 people made the move to Teams Calls on Tuesday, November 2. You can start preparing for your transition to Teams Calls by visiting baylor.edu/helpdesk/teamscalls and reviewing the training materials, tutorials, and FAQs provided on the page. You will receive a notification about 10 days in advance of your migration to Teams Calls.
