Baylor Data Center UPS Transition & Campus Network Outage
In January 2025, BaylorITS will replace its existing uninterruptible power supply (UPS) system in the data center. The new UPS system will better support the continued operation and growth of the data center.
To accommodate the replacement of the UPS system, there will be two periods in early January when the data center will be without power. The Baylor campus network and some server-based resources will be unavailable for brief periods when our reliance on-campus network resources is low.
Monday, January 6, 2025, from 12:01 a.m. to 7:00 a.m.
This initial phase of the project was completed successfully.Saturday, January 11, 2025, from 2:00 p.m. to 8:00 p.m.
Some non-essential equipment may be powered down in advance of these outage windows outside of business hours. During each outage, the Baylor University Police Department will be available at (254) 710-2222. Those experiencing immediate emergencies shoud dial 911.
